Skills

 

 

 

Skills are balanced via expansion, are more descriptive, and share a close relationship to the new perk system.

The modifications to the skills:

 

 

New Skill (Stealth):

 

-New stealth skill to counter GMDX's AI improvements.

-Increases movement speed whilst walking and crouched, reduces sound produced when landing from height, and increases leaning speed among other things.

 

 

Lockpicking: 

 

-The lockpicking skill holds greater importance. Don't expect to be able to pick absolutely every door unless you invest in the skill to master level.

 

 

Tech: 

 

-Same as lockpicking above. You WILL need to upgrade these if you want to loot/hack/explore everything.

 

 

Demolitions: 

 

-More enemy-placed mines in the map. Investing in demolition skill grants you the potential to collect these extra mines.

-Gas grenades are more deadly and at master level gas grenades instantly K.O unaugmented NPCs.

-The skill increases blast radius of all player-owned grenades.

-Scrambler grenades rely on this skill to a greater degree as the base scramble timer is reduced.

-In hardcore mode proximity mines are harder to disarm without investment in the demolitions skill.

 

 

Environmental Training: 

 

-Ballistic vests and Hazmat suits only degrade with sustained damage.

-Upgrade the skill to stack suits in inventory (+1 per upgrade). 

-Hazmats protect you against electricity damage (bug fix).

-More dangerous hazards to encounter in the game. 

-Tech googles are now influenced by this skill.

-Only one torso piece can be equipped at any given time, but all can be taken off again at any time.

-Biocells can restore armor charge.

 

 

Medical: 

 

-Small max health bonus to head and torso per upgrade (+10hp). 

 

 

Low-Tech Weapons:

 

-Throwing knifes are faster at advanced level.

-Stamina drain is reduced by 50% at master level.

 

 

Heavy Weapons, Pistols and Rifles:

 

-No longer influences recoil.

Computers: 

 

-Skill requirements/checks are implemented for balancing purposes. 

-You can only reconfigure turrets at Master level.

-At master level the bar drains extremely slowly so you can read emails and such at your leisure.

-If the "Real Time UI" option is enabled you are no longer invisible and can be killed whilst hacking. 

-New Hacking software pickups can aid hackers.

 

Swimming: 

 

-Now named "Athletics". Not only does it increase lung capacity and swim speed, but also stamina capacity.

-The Swimming skill is of greater importance with respect to swimming. Too much to list.

 

 

Of course as per the default design you cannot have all the skills in one playthrough. Choose your skills wisely.
